People celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with enthusiasm, keeping in mind that Lord Ganesha will bless them, help them overcome all the problems they have in their lives, and fulfill all the desires that they have in their minds.
Lord Ganesha is believed to be someone who has all the wisdom of this world and universe in his head.
In addition to holding a lotus in one hand and a shell in the other, his appearance includes a broken tooth and him sitting on a small mouse.
It is people’s faith in him that they pray to him to get relief from all the setbacks they have in their lives.
That is Lord Ganesha for you, for all of us. He is the son of the chief of the gods, Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.
It is his birthday that we celebrate as Ganesh Chaturthi in India and people celebrate this festival with so much passion and excitement.
Everyone has a different story to tell about the birth of Lord Ganesha and here is the most believed one.
Mata Parvati wanted to take a bath and for that, she did not want anyone to disturb her while she was in the pond.
Usually, at all times Nandi used to guard her but at that time Nandi was not present there.
Due to that, she took her turmeric paste out and applied it to an entity, and because of Parvati Ji’s godly power that entity got a human life.
And as per the current situation, his job was to guard Parvati Ji anyhow and not let ‘anyone’ near her while she was taking the bath.
And after only a few minutes. Lord Shiva appeared there and without knowing who he is, Lord Ganesha didn’t let Lord Shiva get near Parvati Ji.
First, Lord Shiva tried ordinary methods to get rid of Lord Ganesha, but when he realized he could not get rid of him using the ordinary methods, he attacked Lord Ganesha with his trident and ripped off his head.
When Parvati Ji got to know about this, she got very furious and told Lord Shiva that her anger could only be silenced if that boy gets his life back and also if all the people in the world start to treat him like a god.
To pacify Parvati Ji, Shiv-Dutas got called immediately and sent to earth to bring the head of an earlier living being who has died the most recently.
Shiv-Dutas brought the head of an elephant and after that, the head got placed on the boy’s neck.
He was refilled with life by Brahma Dev and Brahma Dev also blessed him to be the god who will be worshipped before all others.
Firstly, people pray to the Lord Ganesha’s idol they have placed in their homes and also sing & recite devotional songs for him.
Then, Lord Ganesha’s idol gets decorated and gets served with flowers and sweets.
After that, people take the idol in their hands and prepare themselves to immerse it in water.
Now the final time is for the Visarjan (which means immersing). Now is the time to submerge Lord Ganesha’s idol into water.
Lord Ganesha is someone who is known for his incredible intelligence and wisdom and the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with the most level of participation in Maharashtra.
