Holi or Holika Dahan, also known as the festival of color, and festival of spring, is a Hindu festival that is celebrated all over the world. Holi is celebrated at the end of winter season.
The festival is celebrated on the last full moon day of the lunar month Phalguna, also called Phalguna Purnima, which generally occurs in March.
It’s a two-day festival, the first day is known as Holika Dahan and the second day celebrates with colors called Dhulandi or Rangwali Holi.
This festival celebrates the eternal love of divine Radha and Krishna. It holds great significance as the triumph of good over evil inspired by the story of Holika and Prahalad.
Holi festival welcomes the spring season and promotes starting fresh and looking forward to new beginnings. People forget their differences and come together to celebrate with friends and family.
This colorful festival is celebrated with traditional foods and drinks like gujiya, dahi bhalla, pakoras, and thandai. Thandai is the most famous drink which is specially made on Holi and made of milk, and nuts with some other Indian spices.
As the Holi festival celebrates by bringing people from all backgrounds together with compassion and love, DIDM embraces diversity and fosters a culture of inclusivity among employees and students alike.
At DIDM, Holi starts with a bonfire celebration that is known as ‘Holika Dahan’ where all the staff and students gather to symbolize the true meaning of Holi which is the victory of good over evil.
We celebrated the festival of Holi at DIDM office by creating beautiful rangolis, exchanging sweets, and enjoying festive foods together.
Most of the employees are in white attire so that they can play Holi with vibrant colors and witness the joy and celebration of Holi with everyone in their colorful attires. We all play with colored powder with students, and each other.
We enjoyed a lot of different activities, games, music, and traditional delicacies like ‘thundai’ to celebrate the festival with pure joy and love.
DIDM celebrates the festivals of colors with love and togetherness to give our employees and students a message that we are one big happy family!
May this Holi bring all the vibrant colors of happiness and success into your life. May your life be filled with joy, love, and happiness, and you find the path to success.
