Arranging The Mahashivratri Puja Ceremony
The puja ceremony is a customary ritual that involves making offerings of flowers, milk, Ganga Jal, and bel patra leaves to Lord Shiva’s idol or Shivling.
Bel Patra leaves are Lord Shiva’s favorite and are considered to be auspicious. The three-leaf bel patra is a powerful symbol of the Trinity: Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva).
As per the scriptures, the three leaves of bel patra represent the three eyes of Lord Shiva and invite positive blessings to your life.
DIDM’s employees and students took blessings for prosperity and success by participating in the puja ceremony.
Mahashivratri is a wonderful occasion to enlighten your team and students about the importance of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati to encourage diversity.
No celebration of a festival is complete without the distribution of ‘prasad’. The ‘prasad’, distributed to all, is an essential part of the ceremony to enhance the festive spirit and favor the sense of togetherness. Enjoy some of our glimpses of the Puja Ceremony!
Significance of Mahashivratri
Mahashivratri, which is celebrated on March 8th, 2024, holds great significance in Hinduism.
Maha Shivratri is more than just a festival, it’s a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment, a pathway to inner peace.
This day is a reflection of the divine energies and is considered the day of the sacred union of Shiva and Shakti.
As per the Hindu Scriptures, Lord Shiva saved the whole universe on the same day from darkness and ignorance by drinking poison that was produced during the churning of the ocean.
Lord Shiva’s selfless act of consuming poison to save existence inspires us to increase our capacity for sacrifice and selflessness.
With fasting and prayer, we prosper Shiva’s devotion and dedication and seek for purification of body, mind, and soul.
