In the recent years the world has shifted drastically from television to social media. The number of people on social media is increasing day by day making it a huge platform for online marketing which no one have though of in the last decade. There are many companies which ranging from start-ups to MNCs and all of them uses digital marketing in one form or the other. More than 50 percent of people look for reviews and the websites or advertisements of business before using its products and/or services.
All the activities performed by people on internet is tracked for various things. Web properties, social media accounts and other digital marketing initiatives ae also linked together and all these details are combined in the form of data generated by a particular person. For most companies, digital marketing analytics is an integral part of making an online presence that helps them to promote their brand and business worldwide. Without analysis the data and results, your marketing techniques won’t provide you with the best possible outcomes. It is very important that the businesses build a strategy or a way and that they used it as the basis for evaluating the outreach generated by that particular outreach activity. This allows them to see how there marketing initiatives are performing and whether they might need to change strategies or techniques so as to improve their outcomes.
Analytics on social media marketing provides a way in which a person and/or business can gain or access the report of the activities performed and their outreach. Basically, the analysis gives answers to the following questions: what I am doing wrong, why ads or interaction didn’t work, etc. It also provides you with the answers related to geography where it is getting popular more. For e.g. If you selling seeds of food products online then you would like it to be public ally more visible in place where there is agriculture land and with those people who buys these stuffs either for themselves or for other persons.
Mobile marketing basically consists of advertisements that appear on mobile smartphones, tablets and/or other mobile devices. Mobile marketing ad formats, customization, and styles generally varies as many social media platforms, websites, and mobile apps offer their own unique and tailored mobile ad options.Basically, the ads content in a website is way different than the ad content on Instagram which basically runs a picture for 4-5 secs.
For a company to do mobile marketing, there are several components that are needed to be kept in mind:
1. Get to know Customer Needs
Data is essential part to understand your target audience or the people which would like to use your services. Data from their activity performed and demographics can help the business figure out what the people will do and what eventually will get them to convert or use your services. Demographic data provides a good picture of business target buyer’sincluding their ages, locations, and point of interests.
E.g. A person living in Ladakh might like to buy a sunscreen whereas a person living in cold region would like to buy a moisturizer. Also, a elder person may require anti-ageing cream as compare to a younger one. All these things are together allowing a company to make a decision which would be their future tactics for marketing.
2. Market based on Data
Data plays an important role as already discussed but these days the data gained from analysis also serves as a input to several software’s for prediction of the changes in the mindset of the persons based on recent trends. If a company gets to know what thing is going to be trend in the coming months it can advertise it few months before and gain a presence among people so that they remember the company names when the new thing arrives.
3. Get Optimize Results
When the company is able to understand their customers better, they will be able to improve their methods of marketing. They can analyse the data behind all of their campaigns and interactions that have happen in recent past and try to find the reasons why and how the interacted with their content.
This analysis can help them improve their campaigns by changing their messaging techniques, channels of marketing, frequency of advertisements, etc. For instance, the data will be able to provide the reality about which platforms are doing good and which platforms are there in which we have to work more.
As discussed above, analysis of data can be done in many ways. There are many ways as well as many software’s present which give you insights on things that needed to be looked upon and the things which are doing good and hence no need for change is required. Some of the ways which are used by every company for the purpose of analysis are:
1. The Website: Website is the first thing that comes to the customer mind when he/she thinks of a product or search it online. A person familiar with a company name tends to buy its products even though they may be little expensive. It provides the people as the way of interaction with the company. It is used for communication with company, buying items as well as raise queries. Since, it is making the first impression, the analysis of website data is of the utmost importance.
2. Interactions in form of comments and Tweets: After the person knows your company, he/she tends to ask certain queries which might be on social media platforms. These queries are generally in the comment section of the ads which are running on the platform. People tend to ask about those products and replying to them in very important. Analysis of the interactions that happened on the comments and on tweets regarding the products plays an important role in undermine which things are criticized and which are appreciated.
3. Software’s- Google Analytics: Talking about analysis one of the most famous software is google analysis. Though there are many analysis tools present these days but they are not as widely used as google analytics. The data it provides is so elaborate that studying it provides a deep knowledge of almost every aspect ranging from target audience to the methods to reaching them in the best possible way.
Now talking about analysis there should be some metrics based on which the companies should compare their progress. There are many such metrics which are generally different for different sectors of businesses. Most of the commonly used metrics for digital marketing are:
1. Dashboard Metrics: These are the metrics which are present in google analytics page. It shows a dashboard giving the insights of very detail such as users, click rate, their activity time, etc. The three widely used dashboard metrics that the company need to consider are pages per visit, bounce rate, and average visit duration. Pages per visit provides the details about how many pages were visited by the average website visitor before they left the company’s website.
The goal of every company is to increase this number by improving you’re the quality of content shared on social media platforms and website design. A higher number here means that your visitors find lots of useful information on the website and hence there are more chances of using your company services.
2. Exited Pages: This page is the worst page for your business. This metrics indicate which page in the website was the last page after which the users exit from the website. The persons should try to make this page more interactive in nature so as to reduce this number.
3. Most Visited Page: As the name suggests this page is the MSP of your website. Every user wants to look at this page. It might be the landing page which is the page that the user looks upon entering a website or a page which is having the offers.
4. Websites that Refers: As the digital marketing is not limited to any one site, website referrals is very important. This metrics shows which social media platforms provided the most traffic on the website providing the company to explore more.
So as to conclude social media marketing is very important these days but analysis of that provides or shows a path to the company in which it has to work more by providing insights through data gathered.

Web analysis is a way in which the company gathers data of the results of their digital marketing.
Marketing analysis is the second part to digital marketing. Once the company has started digital marketing, he/she uses different software’s and tools to get the results.
There are many tools available for analysis of the extent of digital marketing. One of the most commonly used tools is google analytics.
The work of digital analytics is to use different software and gather the information from them. The person is then asked to provide ways in which the marketing can be improved.
